We must admit the included breakfast at our hotel was getting old. As we had wheels, we opted to drive to the Shorehouse in La Jolla for breakfast. This restaurant was not really on the shore, but it had the whole beach community vibe going and we could tell by the number of customers that we had made the right choice.
Rush hour traffic was not too bad and we arrived shortly after opening time. We enjoyed our walk along the Jasmine lined streets of La Jolla to the restaurant. Cappuccinos were OK, but still not coffee enough or hot enough. Perhaps we needed an extra shot. I had the short stack of mango pancakes with mango guava compote and granola and they were delightful. Patty had the Maple chicken sandwich with potatoes, also delicious.
Back to the car and on to Torrey Pines State Reserve, after a brief pause for a look back at La Jolla.
