The pattern repeated…
- arrive at campsite
- set up tent and fly
- purify some water. A good fresh source of running water exists here
- Fire up the cook stove to prep for coffee and then supper.
- Duck and cover from falling rain.
- Finish cooking and eating in the rain.
The problem at this campsite is that the cooking/eating area is out in the open. One of our tent pads had a nice grove of evergreens behind it that provide shelter from the rain. We were able to dine in relative comfort until the branches above us reached the saturation point and started to anoint us with rain drops.
Right after supper and cleanup, the showers stopped and we resumed normal (if not sodden) operating activities. I will do a separate post on our evening hike.
