February 19/19 – Winterlude Part 14 – Sunshine Resort – Down and Out

We had been watching the gondola testing and repairs quite closely. The last thing we wanted at ski hill going home time was to be at the back of a very long lineup. As soon as I saw the attendant grab the barrier, I gave my “Lets Go” holler and the entourage trailed along behind me. Those who were inside Burger Co. likely did not even see that all was ready.

This time, we had the gondola car to ourselves and the warm sun had melted off Jack Frost’s work. I’d like to say that we had clear windows, but plastic windows get scratched up, particularly on a ski hill.

The ride was uneventful and we all chatted about what a fabulous day we had on top of the world.

Load ’em up
Tiny little bites of colour on a thin string
view through scratched window
like an advert
at Goats Eye terminal
teeny tiny little skiers down below
long shadows
making the turn
everybody out

  1. I’m adding Sunshine Village on my travel wish list, Allan. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen snowy mountain peaks and as much as I love living beside the ocean, my soul dreams of Mountains. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day 😀 Aiva

    1. Lovely views for sure. They are also open for sightseeing and hiking in the summer, when the meadows are ablaze with wild flowers. A pretty place for sure. Just came in from an hour of shoveling the latest installment of March snow. Another 15 cm. Yay?? Stay well Aiva and thanks for reading. Allan
