March 27/20 – Hosta La Vista, Baby

Hosta La Vista, Baby

Stuck inside our home for a week or two,

we longed for a glimpse of a valley view.

Racking our brains for a safe place to walk,

Capilano seemed better than our block.

On arriving to a full parking lot,

we found a few holes in our strolling plot.

Everywhere, people were walking dogs

right straight towards us without any jogs.

The more they hiked, the more they intruded,

hopes for a walk dashed, were we deluded?

Back into the car and heading for home

to walk around Beaumont, no more to roam.

the view was great, like nothing was changed
closer look
the path was too muddy in any event

    1. I do not either. In Beaumont, people give a wide berth to others. Even the tweens and teens here get it. The person who tried to walk right through us was not even walking a dog. We were in her way as she walked to her car. We are walking in our own little city where people do get it. Hope all is going well with you and your family Bernie. Stay well. Allan

  1. Fantastic poem and beautiful photos, Allan! We don’t see many people walking around in Sligo, only a few here and there. It’s a little bit eerie and spooky but I wouldn’t have it any other way, anything to tackle the virus! Thanks for sharing and have a good day 😀 Aiva

    1. Yup. We really thought it would be the same everywhere we went. Walking around is still OK here, just no groups over 15 and strict social distancing, but some people do not know boundaries, I guess. From the long view of the city skyline, you would have no clue what was going on. You are right, I keep expecting to go around a corner and see zombies walking toward me. Most people still drive and do a big shopping. I prefer to spend minimal time in a store and get a few things at a time. Stay well Aiva. Another cold morning here today. Allan
