Living Small – Takeout Wednesdays – Eat Your Fruit and Veg

I know in some parts of the world, this may seem counter-intuitive, but encouragement is being given to support struggling restaurants during the Covid 19 shut down. We have no need to look further than our downtown for our choice for the past Wenesday. Tourtiere with mashed potatoes and shaved Brussels sprouts. Yum. We provided the fruit….grape juice and strawberries.

Food for Thought

Takeout Wednesdays

help a struggling restaurant.

Eat your food and veg.

    1. Like every other business, some will, some won’t. There is just a bit more pressure this time. Not an industry in which I would like to be employed, for sure. Thanks for reading Bernie. Allan

  1. Wow, you guys sure know how to make the most of your time living in a lockdown. Once bakeries and shops finally open in Sligo, we are planning on heading out and supporting local businesses! Thanks for sharing, and enjoy those lovely looking strawberries 😊 Aiva

    1. You need to find a way to make boring special. Glad to see so many places are surviving by offering takeout. It could be the new normal or it could end up being a worthwhile sideline when “normal” returns. Thanks for reading Aiva. Allan

    1. Not quite as pretty in a cardboard box as it is properly plated in the restaurant, but, beggars can’t be choosers. It was delicious. Thanks for reading and commenting. How are you doing these days. Allan

  2. Last week to celebrate my mom’s birthday, everyone in my family ordered takeout and ate “together” on FaceTime. Strange times, but it’s interesting to see how creative people are to adapt. Your dinner looks delicious, especially those chocolate covered strawberries!

    1. Excellent. We have tried to coordinate Skye meals, but tough to line up times that work. Lots of Skype calls, phone calls etc. It is good to keep in touch, but I would like it better if there was something good to talk about besides this menace. The strawberries were delightful. Nice to still be getting some fresh fruit and veg crossing our borders. Stay well William. Allan
