Jasper in June (Part 20) – Goldeneyed Ladies of the Lake

Each morning down by the lake was a bit different. On this day, there was a fair bit of bird play going on. Mostly by female Barrow’s Goldeneye ducks.

It was a ton of fun to watch the takeoffs and landings and the group interaction down on the lake. I think it was a bit like a bird version of a coffeeklatch.

I brought my mirror with me
bad hair day
flyby
lowering landing gear
bubble bath
in drydock
take off, eh!
almost touching the water
follow the leader
full flaps for landing
It wasn’t me, it must have been the dog

  1. I love watching ducks playing around in the water and sounds like you did too. As always, fantastic photos, Allan. The rain is back in Sligo and everything looks even more green. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day 😀 Aiva

    1. Thanks Aiva. watching ducks, you can understand why they were central in Walt Disney’s characters. Sorry about the rain in Sligo. It poured here this AM. At 9:00 AM, it was as dark as it would be at 10:00 PM. If Sligo is as green as here, it is probably moss. The afternoon was lovely, we just got back from a 30+ k bike ride in the country. Now having Thai iced coffee on the back deck. Life is good. Thanks for reading and stay well. Allan
