Cycle Sights – Hay, Look at This

These photos were taken September 4, 2020, on another bicycle journey.

Hay, Look at Me

Cycling past row after row,

autumn winds begin to blow.

Tractor spins around each loop,

as flocks of birds whirl and swoop,

hoping lunch comes hopping out

wishes granted without doubt.

On this grey and cloudy day,

some cycle while some make hay.

Hay windrows drying after being raked

  1. My favorite part of passing by farms is seeing all the old buildings that remain. I always wonder what their lives were like in that old farmhouse or what kind of secrets the old barn could tell if it could. Did the farm stay in the family or did it become the home of a new family? My curiosity can lead me down a rabbit hole and leave me to my dreams for some time lol

    1. I’m with you Angie. The old buildings hold a lot of interest for me, as well, as I grew up on farms with old houses and buildings and it takes me back. It is good to dream and remember and allows us to escape the world for just a bit. Thanks for reading Angie. Allan
